Come to Me As You Are

8 March 2010 | Paul Rea

Come to me as you are
Your wounds
Your bruises
Your scars

Come to me as you be
Your sorrow
Your hate
Your misery

Come to me as you near
Your heart break
Your angst
Your tears

Come to me all alone
Your face
Your heart
Skin and bone

Come to me with your stains
Your shackles
Your vices
Your chains

Come to me in my dreams
The distance
Much nearer
Than it seems

Come to me as you weep
The mountains sprawling
The rivers deep

Come to me at last my dear
For I will steer us clear
Of the storms
The raging seas
A world full of hate and disease
Hasten yourself unto me
For I will set you free
And take you far away
To a place that does not gray
To a world where life is a dance
And you are my only chance
Where happiness is never far

Come to me as you are
